Everyone knows that digital cameras are here for good, it’s pretty much how it’s most likely going to be done from this point on. Camera manufacturers are going to keep on improving their talents and pack more juice into the digital cameras. If you want to enhance your photography skills so you continue to take the best photographs possible, here are some tips that should help you out.

1- Find the right camera for your requirements. With the correct equipment backing you up, you are likely to be well placed to take nice pictures. Therefore what you need to do now is to select the right camera. Always look at what you need. If you have problem selecting the right camera, get the retailers or professionals to help. They are most likely knowledgeable enough to fit the best camera to your needs.

2- Shoot plenty of photographs. Then you need to keep on taking pictures as often as possible. Be certain to keep your camera close to you. You never know when a great shot can be had. When you are taking your photos, remember to take several shots and use various angles as well. When it comes to digital photography, all of your photographs will be saved on a digital storage device so you need not to stress about spending all that money for film like in the past.

3- Learn by making boo-boos. After that you will need to compare the photos you have taken. This is the trial and error stage where you find out the simplest way to photograph your subject. Which of them looks better? Ask why you this picture beats the other? Consider what will occur when you change the white balance to snap the same subject. Often, challenging yourself is how you enhance your digital photography abilities.

4- Don’t forget the good stuff. During the comparison of your photographs, you also need to remember what you did to the pictures. When you start getting better at digital photography, you are supposed to consistently pump out great pictures. You are supposed to know how to position yourself to take great footage of your subject. You are supposed to understand how to use your flash under different circumstances rather than making random attempts with your photos.

5- Enhance your abilities. The last tip to taking great pictures is you need to consistently update yourself. Log on, read mags and visit exhibitions to find out how other photographers are taking their photos. It is even better that you can talk to several other photographers and have them critique your work.

We hope these pointers will assist you take better pictures from here on. If you ever discover that your camera is damaged and you need to find yourself some good digital camera repair shop, then look no farther than Google to align you in the right path. Keep under consideration a specialty digital camera repair online shop will probably be far less expensive than going thru the camera manufacturer directly.

Under water photographs show the entire underwater life to the surface. Under water photographers have taken it upon themselves to bring the underwater life to those who don’t wish to dive or perhaps never had the chance. While all photography is a skill the under water world wants special skills and underwater cameras to bring the very best quality alive.

Unlike other wild life photography, the under water world, the marine life, needs to be snapped close, and this is because of the density of the water. It refracts photographs frequently distorting them so that the closer you are to your subject the less water there is in the middle, the less refraction will occur. Under water photography needs a great amount of patience. Your target may swim speedily by, or they may conceal into the anemones popping out only when danger isn’t felt. Water holds particles, most generally living organisms called plankton and because those particles often float by, and while you are going to take the photo you can loose contrast and sharpness of the image.

Marine life uses the premise of hiding more than speed or survival of the fittest. This suggests you will frequently find your target concealed instead of out in the open. You’ve got to seek your subject with resolution, without startling it. The under water life demands respect. You do not need to touch the living organisms and so you must learn to move with the prevailing while making an attempt to achieve the ideal picture. Lots of marine life can die if you touch them, especially coral so having a past-time of underwater photography requires you to follow some rules, a code of ethics.

Underwater flash or even more typically called a strobe will help you gain the light you need to take an ideal photograph. It is crucial to have a flash with an underwater camera. It will help you bring other colors rather than red and orange into the photo. The flash only needs to be middle-sized, any bigger and it can obstruct your photo taking experience.

Composition is also vital. You may follow the same rule you did in regular photography; nevertheless you still need to have an upward angle on the target. This goes back to the camouflage method of most sea species. They generally tend to melt into their hideouts or in some cases, their bodies are prepared to conceal away in the water when swimming very fast. When you’re trying hard to get a clear photo when the subject mixes into the background can be difficult and creates a challenge.

When dealing with underwater photography as a pastime you will need to hone your photography skills on land first. Once you take good photos on land you can then move into the harder version of the underwater world, where some guidelines you’ve used no longer apply and accomplishing the best photo needs a lot of patience as well as talent. It brings the marine life to the surface assuaging some of the unknown. If you find you are just starting to have an interest in it you will want to search out a professional underwater photography class to teach you some of the critical methodologies as well as practice. You may find good guides and books, underwater cameras, underwater camera housings and lots more information at http://bestunderwatercamerasonline.com.

When I bought my first digital camera, complete with its little viewing screen, people would invariably ask, “Can I see the photo?” Children would ask me to take their picture, and then run over and ask to see it, then go back and ask me to take another!

It’s great to have all that excitement, but were my pictures actually the best they could be?

Here are 7 tips that I have learned that have improved the quality of my photos.

1. Use the high resolution setting. At the start, I had the resolution set to medium. That way I was able to take hundreds of pictures before having to download the memory card to my computer’s hard disk. That was fine for viewing on screen, but then one day I wanted to do an 8×10 paper version, and the results were disappointing. Now I always use the highest resolution my cameras can provide. I have had to spend some money on more memory cards, but it was worth it.

2. Use a Tripod. Even the slightest movement of the camera can create a blurry image. Invest in a tripod. I have also found that when taking photos of groups, I am better able to judge when to “click” if I am looking directly at the group, rather than through the view finder. Line up the shot while the camera is on the tripod, and then look at them while clicking the shutter.

3. Buy a Good Photo-Editing Program. Perhaps your camera came with Photoshop Elements, or similar. If not, go to your computer retailer and buy one. Not only can you fix blemishes (maybe Susan was having a bad zit day), but you can do more creative things as well. Recently I combined a photo of my grand-daughter with one of Dora-the-Explorer. Jasmine loved it.

4. Don’t Compress. As you edit your photo, be careful of your compression setting. Most programs default to “jpeg” format, which saves space by selectively removing pixels, and recreating them the next time you view the photo. If you open, edit, and save a photo multiple times, the over-all quality decreases. Try to do all your editing in one pass, using the lowest compression, or if you need to do more editing tomorrow, use a format like “tiff”, which does not compress. If you will using a retail print service, make sure you keep a copy in a format they can read. The final version could be copied into a smaller email ready version.

5. Get in Close to Your Subject. Don’t waste pixels on excess background. Get in closer, either physically, or with an optical zoom setting.

6. Good Things Come in 3s (or more!). When you think about the actual cost of taking a photo with a digital camera (close to nil!), you should take lots of shots. If the shot is available for more than a few seconds, take more that one photo. I always tell the subjects of my photos that I will be taking at least 2 or 3 shots of them (using a tripod of course!). What if you only take one photo, and someone blinks?

7. Read the Manual. In fact, read it more than once. As if I have to explain this one! (actually, you should not only read the manual that came with the computer; you should also look for websites on the web that can help you learn more about your hobby)

Here’s an equation for you.

(LOTS of photos with your digital camera) + (the above tips) = (a day coming soon when you’ll be proud to show off your creations)

If you are focused on photography – and need to move your photography to a whole new, higher level – the key to success would be the photography background!

On the list of significant differences between novice and expert photography is the pro has learned to manage and manipulate the photography background – where the novice focuses all their consideration on the subject and typically simply lets the background happen on its own.

Have you ever been so caught up in your subject and lights and so forth that (when you check out the completed photo) you see a huge waste can – right behind your subject – spilling garbage all over the ground? In every shot? Plus you never even noticed it in the course of the photo sitting!

Or, maybe you’ve been guilty of having tree branches seeming to erupt from the model’s head, similar to antlers?

These are silly blunders which can be easily handled and will promptly boost your photography’s impact.

The bad news is we do not really become aware of how much better our images are! Let us face it; if you don’t have litter or antlers and so forth, you don’t stop to consider how significantly better your shot is…you just do not notice. Our attention only comes to bear if we overlook something and screw up (we all do once in a while).

If you’d like admiration for your creative activities, you CANNOT allow these problems into your photography. It really is a simple fix…only remember to consider the setting and all 4 corners within the viewfinder before you click on the shutter button – then you tweak accordingly.

For those who have a tough time remembering, acquire a piece of masking tape and write – in large black lettering – “CHECK THE BACKDROP”. And then stick the masking tape to the backside of the camera. It will help remind you until it turns into a habit.

You won’t ever appreciate the number of images you’ve rescued, nevertheless it’s definitely worth the effort.

The next most straightforward photography background technique – to make your subject “pop” from the photo – is to isolate them.

I am sure you’ve seen photography where the subject is in clear, sharp focus – however the backdrop is totally out of focus and is nothing but a wash of color.

That’s accomplished by manipulating the depth of field.

Depth of field establishes how much of the photo is in focus. You can find complete publications written about this area (heck, I wrote one myself!) but the simplest ways to achieve this “wash of color” technique are to:

1.	Make use of the longest focal length lens you can.
2.	Open it up towards the widest aperture workable – this will be the lowest f-stop number.
3.	Place the backdrop as far to the rear of the subject as is workable. Or else place the subject as far in front of the background as you can.

Plainly each one of the 3 procedures has quite a few variables. By adjusting the variables presented to you, you can make your photography background as focused or de-focused as you desire. There’s no right or wrong.

Completely out of focus, moderately in focus, sharp as a tack…this is the point where your inventive eye comes into play.

When you’ve mastered your “in camera” strategies of manipulating the backgrounds, after that it’s time to consider creating some cloth backgrounds. This can give your work a pro “studio” look.

A good quality background can literally cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. So, instead of dishing out the big bucks, I like to recommend creating your own. Fortunately a photography background is straightforward to generate and can be made for pennies on the dollar.

Pay attention to your photography background and you can be shooting pro level photography almost immediately.

I’m regularly asked – by frustrated shooters – what materials they should be using to acquire a crisp, clean, pure white photography background.

Regrettably, that would be the wrong question to ask! It in fact, isn’t the background material that provides you with the clean white you are in search of.

It’s the amount of light!

Here’s the situation…you set up a dirt free white bed sheet or a roll of white paper – and you put your subject in front of it.

You set up a light source or two and light your subject. All is looking excellent. You think you have a satisfactorily lit subject and a nice white background.

Now, you shoot the photo.

Worriedly, you hurry to the photo lab if you are shooting film or to your computer if you are shooting digital. You check the finished picture and ta daaa!

Your subject is flawlessly lit, however the background is really a dull gray color. Not the clean, pure white you saw in the viewfinder!

Seem familiar? If you’ve been having a tough time with your high key photography…And you’ve been getting that dull gray color (regardless of the materials you use) here’s the way to repair the problem!

All light has a certain drop off feature.

By that I mean the further the light is from a subject matter, the dimmer it is. As a result, that means… when you’ve got a specific amount of light striking your subject, and you are using that SAME illumination to light your background, your light is further from your background than from your subject. Consequently, it is going to be slightly dimmer by the time it gets to the background fabric.

Wow! That’s a mouthful. Simply stated…

The reason you are making that gray color is because there’s more light striking your subject than is striking the photography background.

To have your backdrop be a real, picture perfect white…merely hit it with MORE illumination than you will be using for the subject!

Seems obvious when you finally realize it, but this can be a major sticking point for a lot of shooters.

The amount of “over-exposure” that is required for the background depends upon the color of the backdrop fabric. If it is already white, you could probably get by with using enough extra illumination to have an over-exposure of roughly half an f-stop. Maybe even one full f-stop.

If the material you are starting with is gray…that’s OK as well! Merely hit it with around 2 ½ stops (give or take) more illumination than you are using for the subject.

Here’s one which will blow some minds…imagine if your photography background fabric is really a pure black piece of canvas – or black roll of paper?

It doesn’t matter! Zap it with 5, 6 or maybe even 7 additional stops worth of illumination (more than you’re using for the primary subject) and you will once again have a nice sparkling white backdrop.

This can be a BUNCH of illumination and I wouldn’t advocate starting out using a black background. When you start off closer to white initially, it is a lot less difficult. Nevertheless, take a crack at it! It’s a fun experiment and will educate you a lot with reference to light!

I recently saw a website with photos with a cool effect. It was the photo o an object which reflected part of its own image at the bottom of the picture. Like when you go to the fields and on the water of a lake you see the reflex of the mountain that is right in front of you. What is that effect? Can I do it in iphoto or a need photoshop?
Ijust find out that this effect is posible to make it in the tools of iWeb. Thanks anyway for your answers.
